Manish Sisodia is an active Aam Aadmi Party member. As of December 2013, he is a cabinet minister in the Government of Delhi and has responsibility for education, PWD, urban development, local bodies and land and building.
Prior to being elected to the Legislative Assembly of Delhi in December 2013, Sisodia was a social activist and journalist as well as a member of the National Executive Committee of the Aam Aadmi Party.

Manish Sisodia was awarded a diploma in journalism by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and worked for Zee News and All India Radio prior to becoming involved in social activism related to the Right to Information. Manish was rundown producer in Zee News. This activism began in 2006 after he had been among those selected to help draft the Right to Information Act of 2005.
Along with Arvind Kejriwal and Abhinandan Sekhri, Sisodia was a founder of the Public Cause Research Foundation in 2006. He was also a key figure in Kabir, a non-governmental organisation. Later, he became an early participant in the popular movement of 2011 that sought a Jan Lokpal bill. He was involved in drafting the first version of that proposed legislation and was jailed for his involvement in protests.
Following the creation of the Aam Aadmi Party in late 2012, Sisodia became a member of its central working committee. He was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly in the Delhi state assembly elections, 2013 when he defeated Nakul Bhardwaj, a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate, by 11,478 votes in the Patparganj constituency of East Delhi.[2][6] He was then appointed cabinet minister in the Government of Delhi, having responsibility for education, PWD, urban development, local bodies and land and building. Manish Sisodia is an Indian social activist and a key member in the 2011 Indian anti-corruption movement and Anna Hazare’s Team (Team Anna). He is the cofounder of “Public Cause Research Foundation” along with Arvaind Kejriwal. This is an NGO aimed at creating awareness about Indian laws like the RTI.

He conducts training workshops, produces short films and documentaries on various aspects of right to information and edits monthly magazine on RTI- Apna Panna.
