98 lakh people have joined Aam Aadmi Party

As many as 98 lakh people from all over India have joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), senior party leader Gopal Rai said on Monday.”Till January 26, a total of 98 lakh people have joined the party from all over the country,” he said at a press conference at the party office. He said the membership drive will continue till the Lok Sabha elections.
“A separate team has been constituted to look after the illegal membership registrations and take initiatives to curb such activities,” said Gopal Rai.
Giving the breakup, he said 76 lakh people have joined the party through the form registration service, seven lakh people through the online service, five lakh through SMS and 10 lakh by “missed calls“.
The AAP had launched a free membership drive early this month, targeting enrolment of one crore members by Jan 26.
