Savita Bhatti, wife of late comedian Jaspal Bhatti, last Monday (January 13, 2014) joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
She filled her membership form at Sector-19 in Chandigarh. Soon after joining, Savita pointed out the similarity between the AAP and her by “living as an aam aadmi (common man), and fighting against corruption”.
Mrs Bhatti joined the party by filling her membership form at her Sector-19 residence.
She Said – “While joining AAP, I feel that my husband Jaspal Bhatti is with me in this decision. We will continue carrying the tirade against corruption and his legacy,”.
Soon after joining the AAP , Savita told the media, “we have lived as Aam Aadmi and have also highlighted the corruption issues.” She added while joining the Aam Aadmi party, I feel Jaspal Bhatti, my husband is with me in this decision. We will continue carrying the tirade against corrupution and the legacy left by Jaspal Bhatti.
The new born party, which held its first public rally in Chandigarh on Sunday, addressed by its national executive member Yogendra Yadav, continues to attract people from different walks of life given its appeal and agenda.
Though AAP is preparing to enter the electoral battle in the next Harayna assembly elections, it has also invited applications for the lone Chandigarh parliament seat as well. An AAP functionary today said that with Savita Bhatti joining the party it has set a trend for artists to come into its fold.
