Highlighting the role he is playing in enabling Narendra Modi become the country’s next Prime Minister, Ramdev claimed that even AAP was keen on joining hands with BJP. ”If he (Arvind Kejriwal) comes in favour of Modi, definitely, I am prepared to mediate,” he said when asked if he will mediate in case AAP or Kejriwal shows inclination to join hands with BJP.

Ramdev said he had earlier backed former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on the issue of war against corruption as the AAP leader had set out to cleanse the system, but he regretted that now he has “lost his way”. ”But he deflected from his mission. Kejriwal raised issues, which Modi raises and for this I had given him the blessings. Now, I am advising him (Kejriwal) that don’t make excuses, don’t become a puppet in the hands of the Congress…,” he said.

Slamming the AAP, Ramdev said “till today AAP’s ideology, policies and their principles are not clear.” “They are themselves confused whether they are Rightist, Leftist or Communist, nationalist or opportunist, that they are, they are not clear. We don’t know what their economic policies are, what are their views on foreign policy, agriculture policy, they are not getting time to think on this, as their single agenda is to finish Modi,” he said.

He said the poor people who had thought that Kejriwal will be their messiah for them and now they have been let down.

Irani, who at present is a Rajya Sabha member and is considered to be a close confidante of Narendra Modi, had unsuccessfully contested the 2009 Lok Sabha polls. She was defeated by Congress leader Kapil Sibal from the Chandni Chowk constituency in the national capital. She is yet to visit Amethi.

 
Aashi Singh has been all praise for Arvind Kejriwal, who wants to make India a corruption-free country.

 
The young girl has been adding money to her piggybank since the age of four. “Whatever she received from her grandparents, uncles and aunts as a token of love, she used to put it in her piggybank. It was very close to her heart,” informed the girl’s mother Dolly Singh.

 
Her parents said that Aashi attended rallies of Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal in 2012.

 
She was seven-years-old when she first attended a rally. Her parents said Aashi was motivated by the idea of better future of the corruption-free country.

 
Father Ranjit Singh, a serviceman said, “Aashi used to accompany us to rallies of Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal. Seeing people distribute free water and food at these rallies, she was also motivated to make a little contribution to the cause.”

Aashi Singh, a student of Class 5 who gave away her collection to Mr Kejriwal, said, “I would be more than happy, if my little contribution could make any difference to Arvind uncle’s movement for a better tomorrow.”
Her father said: “When she came up to us that she wanted to donate her savings, we were surprised at the first place, but then appreciated her move,” said Mr Singh.

Addressing impromptu meetings in east Delhi in support of AAP candidate Rajmohan Gandhi, Kejriwal launched a vicious attack on both the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress.

“If my aim was to reach parliament, then I would have fought the Lok Sabha election from a safe seat,” the former Delhi chief minister thundered from atop an open vehicle.

“I want to defeat Modi. That is why I am fighting election from Varanasi. It is also important to defeat (Congress vice president) Rahul Gandhi. That is why (AAP’s) Kumar Vishwas is contesting in Amethi.

“Both Modi and Rahul (Gandhi) need to be defeated… They lead two parties that believe in corruption,” he said.

Kejriwal pointed out that while the BJP had fielded the tainted former chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa in Karnataka, the AAP had put up Rajmohan Gandhi, a grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, in east Delhi. ”This is the difference between the BJP and AAP,” he said. It was the second straight day of campaigning in Delhi by Kejriwal for the Aam Aadmi Party, whose minority government collapsed Feb 14 after just 49 days.

He denied reports in a section of the media that he might end up joining the BJP. ”I have never said that, and I will never join any of these parties,” Kejriwal asserted, as the AAP cavalcade wound its way through some of the more thickly populated areas of east Delhi.

Some 800 supporters accompanied him, some on foot and others on motorcycles. Whenever he stopped to make short speeches, hundreds gathered to hear him. Kejriwal recalled the attacks on him in Gujarat and Bhiwani in Haryana, and also how he was pelted with eggs when he went to Varanasi.

“It is the BJP and Congress who are responsible for these incidents,” he said. “They want to crush us. But we will never bow to them. We will fight against corruption till our last breath.”
